Strategic Location

invest hong kong

Located at the heart of Asia, the city offers a high level of international connectivity. There are over 1,100 flights daily to more than 220 destinations worldwide, including about 50 destinations in the Mainland, by 120+ airlines. Half of the world's population can be reached within five hours of flight.

The city has Air Services Agreement or International Air Services Transit Agreements with about 50 countries along the Belt and Road. In addition to being Asia's transportation and business hub, Hong Kong is also a unique gateway to Mainland China, one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Major China cities can be reached within four hours flying time and less than one hour between Hong Kong, Macao and western coast of Pearl River Delta that offers the most convenient access to Mainland China.

The construction of a Three-Runway System (3RS) expected to be completed by end-2024 will allow the Hong Kong International Airport to have the capacity to handle over 100 million passengers and around nine millions tonnes of cargo annually , meeting air traffic demand up to at least 2030.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), commissioned in 2018, enables the Western Pearl River Delta to fall within a three-hour commuting radius of Hong Kong. The bridge slashes journey time between Zhuhai and Hong Kong International Airport from four hours to 45 minutes. The HZMB and the adjacent Hong Kong International Airport have turned Lantau Island into a “double gateway” to the world and other Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay area cities.
